3) Daily Supplies Textbook and/or novel under study Blue or black pens and highlighter No. 2 pencils College-ruled paper (loose leaf) English binder with SIX labeled dividers: 1) Homework 2) Vocabulary 3) Warm-ups 4) Handouts 5) Class Notes 6) Returned Work ***Binder with tabs is due on Wednesday 9/5

4) Attendance/Tardy Policy Students will lose participation points for unexcused tardies On the 4th tardy, a detention will be given See the student handbook for consequences after 4th tardy In the event of a truancy, the student will receive zero credit for work due or completed that day (including tests and essays)

6) Homework Policy Yes, you will have homework  Some assignments will be graded, while others will be credit/no credit Pinkslips Turn in all work at the beginning of the period for full credit I do not accept late work Essays completed outside of class must be submitted to Turnitin.com in order to receive credit

7) Grading Policy Grades earned over course of semester Homework, quizzes, projects, in-class assignments, tests, essays, and participation Grades updated on Zangle on a regular basis (every 1-2 weeks)

8) Classroom Guidelines Be in your assigned seat and working when the tardy bell rings Bring all books/materials with you to class and take them with you when you leave Follow directions the first time they are given

9) Guidelines cont. Be respectful Refrain from talking when others are speaking/participating No inappropriate behavior or offensive language Follow all procedures outlined in WHS handbook No cellphones/electronic devices or food in the classroom

10) Not following the guidelines will result in… 1st: Warning and documentation 2nd: Behavior contract and assigned detention 3rd: Parent/Guardian and Counselor contact 4th: Disciplinary referral Severe Clause

11) Procedures When you enter the room: Please enter quietly and take your seat Review the daily agenda on the screen Take out materials and start working

12) Procedures Getting your attention: I will stand at the front of the room Raise my hand Wait for everyone to be quiet Begin speaking Leaving the room: 2 passes per semester Sign out and take wood pass
