Title IX Protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive Federal financial assistance. Title IX states that no person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. Some key issue areas in which school districts have Title IX obligations are: athletics; sex-based harassment; treatment of pregnant and parenting students; discipline; and single sex education.

LODI USD: A Safe Place Lodi Unified prohibits, at any district school or school activity, unlawful discrimination, including discriminatory harassment, intimidation, and bullying of any student based on the student’s actual or perceived race, color, ancestry, national origin, nationality, ethnicity, ethnic group identification, age, religion, marital or parental status, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or gender expression or association with a person or group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics. This policy shall apply to all acts related to school activity or to school attendance occurring within a district school (Board Policy 5145.3)
