Objective At the end of this lesson, students will be able to analyze pre-1491 societies by evaluating primary source documents with historical thinking skills.

Mini-Lesson-SOAPstone How do you know you have comprehended something you’ve read?????? Subject Occasion Audience Purpose Speaker Tone

Guided Practice In small groups(nearby students, do not move around too much), we will model our first SOAPStone. Pre 1492 Demographics

Cooperative Activity In groups, you will complete one SOAPSTone for one primary source. Each group will have a different primary source and at the end of the period, we will share out our findings.

Closing Each group will present their findings to the class so they each can record what the primary source said.
