Natural Resources

Natural Resources Any living or nonliving thing in the environment that is used by people

Nonrenewable natural resource A natural resource that is not replaced as it is used Examples are coal, oil, natural gas, metals, and minerals

Renewable natural resource A natural resource that is naturally replaced in a relatively short amount of time Examples are sunlight, wind, water, plants, and animals (if they are not used too quickly)

Alternative Energy Sources These are new ways to power our cars, homes, and cities. We rely heavily on nonrenewable natural resources, so it seems obvious that we need to focus on renewable ones.
