C-MORE was conceived to facilitate understanding of the biological and ecological role of marine microorganisms. Based at the University of Hawaii, with partners at UCSC, MBARI, OSU, WHOI, MIT, and Columbia U. NSF funded Science and Technology Center; 10 year program began in August 2006. Receives leveraged funding for research and education, including support from the Agouron Institute, Simons Foundation, and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. The merger of research and education is integral to C-MORE’s mission. This course was created to help train the next generation of leaders in microbial oceanography (THAT’S YOU!).
