The Ten Commandments Exodus 20:1-17 Jews No longer apply

Given to Moses on Mt. Sinai 8 = Negative 2 = Positive

Matt. 22:36-39 36. Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

I. Thou Shalt Have No Other Gods Before Me. Ex. 20:3 First in number and importance Apply Today Eph.4:6 “One God” 1 Cor. 8:6 “there is but one God,” He is the God of All men

II. Thou Shalt Not Make Unto Thee any Graven Image Ex. 20:4 No Idols Apply Today Rom. 1:21-25 – worshipping creature rather than creator 1 Cor. 10:14 “flee from idolatry” 1 John 5:21 “keep yourselves from idols”
