Write a research question for EACH topic Create a multimedia presentation to present your research to your classmates. Create a note-taking handout for your classmates (Due Thursday @ beginning of class). Create a printed MLA works cited page. Copy/paste this on your presentation

1st Period Groups Group 1 Anna Sierra Chase Group 2 Jordan Maddie Gabby Group 3 Jeb Jasmine Kirby Group 4 Sarah Nick Lana Group 8 Nora Rachel Karmen Group 9 Bekah Mackenzie Logan Group 5 Cara Caitlyn Emma Group 6 Nathaniel Dakota Izen Group 7 Michael Gillian Tristan

5th Period Groups Group 1 Jad Bayleigh Kathryn Group 2 Paige Griffin Sienna Group 3 Brie Sydney Stephen Group 4 Haley Carter Dakota Group 5 Ben Grant Makayla Group 6 Andrew Lilly Emily W. Group 7 Charlie Cameron Emily U. Group 8 Mackenzie Taylor John Group 9 Nolan Josh Maddie Group 10 Caleb Michael Jasmine

Monday Your Task Today: Read the rubric carefully, so you AND your group members know exactly what is expected of you. PLAN Choose your topics (must be approved by me!)—PAGE 190 We will go through all 20 topics first, then I will let people double up on topics Decide who in your group will research which topic Develop a research question Begin designing your note-taking handout (can be handwritten or typed) This is DUE THURSDAY @ BEGINNING OF CLASS! Research question Note-taking space for EACH of your chosen topics If time allows, you may begin researching on your phone

Tuesday Your Task Today: SIT IN YOUR GROUPS TODAY! Turn in Etymology Packets Research your assigned topic AND take notes on Google Drive (or have a plan to share your notes with each other). Minimum of 5 facts for each assigned topic. SUMMARIZE AND PARAPHRASE YOUR NOTES TO AVOID PLAGIARISM! Changing a few words does not avoid plagiarism Record your source Create an MLA citation for your source SHARE your notes

Wednesday Your Task Today: Complete notes if necessary Find and cite images/videos to use in your presentations. Videos should be no longer than 30 seconds, so if the video is longer than that, choose the best 30 seconds. MUST be relevant images and visuals. Cite these and place URLs in your notes document on One Drive Finalize note-taking handout DUE TOMORROW @ BEGINNING OF CLASS! Begin looking at multi-media presentation options (next slide). Think about the pros and cons of using each resource.

Multi-media Presentation Options You are NOT limited to these options. If there is something you would like to use but are unsure about, come see me! Power Point is not an option. Prezi Flowboard Haiku Deck

Thursday Your Task Today: Turn in note-taking handout! Choose a multi-media presentation resource. You may need to create accounts. If so, be sure all students have the e- mail and password. Some presentation resources (e.g. Prezi) will allow you to “share” and edit at the same time from separate computers. Begin designing the presentation Transitions, designs, animations, etc. Don’t forget a slide for citations Begin inputting information into your presentation This should be a group effort

Formatting an MLA Works Cited Page Go to OWL Purdue for examples and format of individual citations Formatting the Works Cited page Double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font Set these specifications BEFORE you begin typing Title should say Works Cited (do not bold, underline, italicize or enlarge font). Hanging Indentation Click the arrow in the “Paragraph” section of Word. Find the “Indentation” section Under “Special,” click “Hanging” This will automatically create a hanging indentation for you.

Friday Your Task Today: Finalize Presentation Title (this should be creative) slide with group members’ names 3 topics + 5 facts each = (minimum)15 total facts Visuals (at least one per topic) Citation page (final page of presentation) Transitions and animations Works Cited Page—Print if you have time! Double-spaced Hanging indention ABC Order Design Your In-Class Presentation! Make a Plan for the Weekend if Necessary! ALL presentations should be e-mailed to me PRIOR to class Monday (1st period—8:45, 5th period—1:03) or it is LATE!
