RQM 310 Class Schedule

Monday Morning After a week of RQM 310, has anything changed? Are we doing our jobs better? Analysis Requirements and documents Staffing and validation How do we use the new skills and contacts? How do we help our shops with what we learned? How do we make that first Monday begin a new era?

Discussion How does DAU RM training make a difference? Terminology and Processes How the system is supposed to work How the system really works How do we make the system work for the warfighter?

Discussion How can DAU help with Monday morning? Help develop an action plan for RQM 310 graduates Emphasize online resources Direct follow up from faculty Engage supervisors Better interaction with Program Managers and offices Combined training?

Combined PM and RM Training How much does an RM need to know about Program Management? Do PMs understand what RMs do? Does DAU include enough training in our existing courses? Do we need additional, combined training? “Walk a mile in each other’s shoes?” Are there additional common topics for BOTH groups? Assignment: Discuss this with your PM Counterpart Consider inviting him/her to the next webinar

DAU Action Investigate competencies that overlap between RMs and PMs Continue Program Manager participation in DAU Requirements courses Develop a more robust list of recommended training courses for RMs Acquisition Contracting Engineering Logistics Test and Evaluation

Questions from the Participants / 1 Cheryl Jobe Would it be a better requirements management methodology to produce a living DOORS database for requirements instead of collecting requirements in traditional FRD and SRD documents? My Program (Enterprise IT networking) works strictly with COTS products. If there is not a COTS product to meet a requirement, then we must change the requirement. Can you make any suggestions for the COTS-only systems?

Questions from the Participants / 2 Cheri Sigmon How could we integrate the rapidly evolving requirements related to cybersecurity into the rapid acquisition process?
