Additional Information Art Of Manufacturing An exciting opportunity for Year 5/6 Primary children to experience the world of manufacturing through an interactive workshop, The session has been developed by Nissan and NAC Group PLC to allow young people to see, hear and touch in a safe learning environment. The children experience the equipment and methods used in Europe’s biggest and most efficient car plant. Two elements to the event 1) Hands on Lego production line Teams compete to build a model “Buddy”car as quickly as possible Working in teams, removing waste, making improvements and building a quality product 2) Hands on manufacturing equipment Looks at how we make things safely and the equipment we use to protect staff Learn how we turn sheets of steel into a finished car Opportunity to safely use actual production tools, manual dexterity exercises and parts selection Additional Information The session can take up to 30 children (multi entry schools will be offered multiple sessions) Sessions ran onsite at each schools premises; therefore school hall facilities ideal Sessions take place between 10.00 am and 2.30pm Aimed at Year 5 BUT mixed classes of Year 5 and 6 students can take part. Children of all educational abilities can take part. We will send a letter to the school for parents / carers to explain the session. Competition for each child to design a logo for the event All of the activities have been risk assessed and this will be provided to schools.
