Global Enterprise Week 2015 (in conjunction with Literacy) Monday 16th to Friday 27th November 2015

What’s it all about Global Enterprise Week starts on Monday 16th November until Sunday 22nd November In schools across the world, students are taking part in competitions and working with local businesses to build upon their entrepreneurial skills Some of you may have taken part in some of the Enterprise projects/clubs and competitions organised by Mrs Smalley who is Sirius’ West’s Coordinator of Business Enterprise Building upon your Enterprise skills is key in helping you to be successful in the workplace and in your future career

Do you have The BIG 13? Once you leave school you need to make sure that you have the ‘something extra’ that will make you stand out from the crowd. Your tutor will show you the big 13– choose 3 that you can provide evidence for Be prepared to share and feedback to the rest of the class What could you do to improve your other potential entrepreneurial skills

Entrepreneurs Some people want to work for another business, some people think they have what it takes to run their own business, other people want to rule the world! Entrepreneurs are people who have started and run their own business. They posses many different skills, some more than others, Your tutor will show you the next slide, it contains different images of entrepreneurs. Here’s your next challenge - In your tables HOW many entrepreneurs CAN YOU NAME and can you name WHAT THEY DO?

Cadbury’s Challenge Every Year, Business Enterprise at Sirius West is set a challenge by Cadbury’s Individual/Pairs/Teams can enter and prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place are awarded Entries are sent to the Marketing Manager at Cadbury’s who will judge them and choose the top entries Prizes will be awarded for the winning projects

The Challenge Cadbury have identified, from analysing previous xmas sales, that they are weak in their Advent Calendar products. The feedback from the public surveyed has stated that the Calendars are: Not exciting Lack inspiration Behind the times Cadbury has tasked Sirius North with designing a new ‘fun’ and ‘up to date’ calendar.

Challenge Conditions Can complete the challenge as an individual/pair/teams A4 OR A3 paper size Designs can be on the computer (then printed off) or on paper You can use any software available on the computer Designs must be completely original and not ‘adapted’ from any current images You could take your own photographs and incorporate in to the designs Designs must be for the FRONT and BACK of the calendar MARKS GIVEN FOR: Must have the Cadbury’s logo included on it Must have space identified for the nutritional information to be placed Must incorporate the Cadbury branding colours (Purple) Should have the Xmas spirit All details must be included on the work Barcode area identified on (or one made up) Additional marks Must include some sort of festive related activity on the back of the calendar HAND-IN DATE: Friday 27th November to Mrs Smalley Room 344

Teacher Note: Plain paper for design will be available to collect from the staff room Colouring pencils will be available to collect from Room 344 please send a student to collect The colouring pencils are to be kept for future tutor tasks Thanks for your support
