BBC Learning produced content for libraries’ Rhyme Time Sessions Shakespeare BBC Learning produced content for libraries’ Rhyme Time Sessions based on the CBeebies production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Awesome Authors in partnership with libraries and CBBC The main event was in Birmingham including content in Birmingham Library Libraries across the UK were invited to apply for the satellite events We ran events in Barry Library, Craigmillar Library, Poole Library and Finaghy Library CBBC brands such as Match of the Day Kick About, Wolfblood and the 4 O’clock Club offered hands on learning activities and the Reading Agency’s book sorter was available to help children choose their next book to read
90% of children who attended events were inspired to read more, rising to 100% in Finaghy 90% of those who attended wanted to learn more about the activities they took part in Almost half of the audience at the satellite events were motivated to join the library
#LovetoRead Social Media Campaign BBC Learning have produced a celebrity led campaign designed to complement and support the Love to Read Season across the BBC We provided all our partners with a detailed tool kit and bank of assets Thank you to all the libraries that have shared content and have made their own!
Future library activity Many of the BBC local radio stations are in the process of launching book clubs in local libraries Relationships are being fostered between the library sector in the Nations and their BBC counterparts
