Multiplying with Decimals SWBAT multiply decimals with whole numbers. SWBAT multiply decimals by decimals.

Do Now Kendall the tiger recently got weighed. He weighed 306.78 pounds. His companion, Wilson, weighed 38.49 pounds more. How much did Wilson weigh in pounds? Daniel had saved $105.65. He gave away $34.08 to charity and bought a new bike helmet for $29.97. How much money in dollars and cents did he have left over? How much money should Mychal get back when he uses a $10 bill to pay for purchases totaling $6.73?

Steps to Multiply: Line them up to the right – not by their decimal point Multiply like normal Count the number of decimal places in the problem. The number of decimal places in your problem will match the number in your answer(start counting moving left)
