Answer No.   NCAA Bylaw 13.15.1.9 shall not provide academic expenses or services (e.g., tutoring, test preparation) to assist a prospective student-athlete in completing initial-eligibility or transfer-eligibility requirements or in improving his or her academic profile in conjunction with a waiver request.

Registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center Required for an official visit or written offer of athletically related financial aid 1. Completed the online registration process on the NCAA Eligibility Center website, which includes an agreement to the Ethical Conduct statement per NCAA Bylaw 10.1, and 2. has made a successful payment or indicated that he or she is eligible to receive a fee waiver The prospect will receive a payment confirmation email, as well as an email confirming successful registration with his or her 10-digit NCAA ID

Registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center To qualify for a waiver of the NCAA Eligibility Center fee, the prospect must already have received a fee waiver from ACT or SAT.  Prospects who qualify for a fee waiver may be provided an official visit or written offer of athletically related financial aid even if the high school official has not yet attested to the fee waiver.

Registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center To determine whether a prospect has successfully registered, we follow these steps: Log on to the NCAA Eligibility Center's Member Institution Portal and enter our login information. Navigate to the IRL tab and then IRL Activation to search for the prospective student-athlete.  If the prospect does not appear on the IRL Activation search page, that student has NOT registered and is NOT permitted to take an official visit or be provided a written offer of athletically related financial aid.  If the prospect's name and NCAA ID appear, the student is considered registered, and is eligible in that regard to receive an official visit and a written offer of athletically related financial aid.

Official Visits – Test Scores For now… A high school PSA does not need to present a score from a PSAT, SAT, PLAN or ACT prior to an official visit This does not change what is needed to be a qualifier with the NCAA Eligibility Center

Out of Season CARA A student-athlete's participation shall be limited to a maximum of eight (8) hours per week. No more than two (2) hours per week can be spent on skill-related instruction/workouts. All countable athletically related activities (CARA) outside the playing season are prohibited: one week prior to the beginning of the final examination period for the applicable academic term through the conclusion of each student-athlete's final exams.

CARA Logs Require MONTHLY submission Completed through JumpForward on a weekly basis Once entered, you must lock and sign the submission for it to actually go to the Compliance Office Any concerns, questions or issues with this process should be brought to our attention immediately Failure to submit these logs and other required paperwork could result in a failure to monitor

Answer No.   Daily and weekly hour limitations do not apply to countable athletically related activities occurring during an institution's term-time official vacation period as listed in the institution's official calendar, and during the academic year between terms when classes are not in session. If such vacation periods occur during any part of a week in which classes are in session, the institution is subject to the daily and weekly hour limitations during the portion of the week when classes are in session and must provide the student-athletes with a day off which may be a vacation day.

Recruiting Services All Recruiting Services must have prior approval. Recruiting Service Request Form is located on (S: Drive, Compliance Information, Forms).

Recruiting or Scouting Services Sports other than Football and Basketball The service is made available to all institutions desiring to subscribe and at the same fee rate for all subscribers.  The service must also provide information regarding each PSA in a standardized format that ensures consistent distribution to all subscribers.   An institution is permitted to subscribe to a service that provides scholastic and/or nonscholastic video. The institution may not contract with a service in advance to have a particular contest recorded or provided.

NCAA Abridged Manuals Abridged Division I sport-specific and constituent-specific Manuals were made available to download in PDF at  www.ncaapublications.com.   The abridged NCAA Division I Manuals contain key provisions of Division I legislation that are most likely to be accessed by those involved in a particular sport (e.g., coaches) or in particular institutional administrative positions (i.e., chancellors and presidents, athletics directors and senior woman administrators, and faculty athletics representatives).

Committees on Infractions Update Probation Reminder – through June 26, 2016 Final Annual Report Submission – March 1, 2016 What this means… Continue diligence and awareness
