DoD Programs Under Joint Chiefs of Staff and Joint Forces Command Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (CWID) CWID is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff annual event that enables U.S. Combatant Commands and the international community to investigate new and emerging technologies that can be moved into operational use within 6-12 months following the execution period. The demonstration builds a temporary global network over which cutting edge communications technologies interact to support scripted scenario. Technologies are evaluated for utility, interoperability with existing and new systems, and security. The partners are USA, NATO & PfP, Australia, New Zealand & South Korea. Joint Forces Command (JFCOM) Office of Research and Technology Applications The Office of Research and Technology Applications (ORTA) serves as USJFCOM's focal point for technology transfer and for its industry and academic engagements. It oversees partnership agreements between USJFCOM and industry or academia. It also identifies new technologies that will help fulfill warfighter requirements.

DoD Programs Under AT&L DDRE Office of Advanced Systems and Concepts (AS&C) Small Business Innovation Research / Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR / STTR) programs fund a billion dollars each year in early-stage R&D projects at small technology companies -- projects that serve a DoD need and have commercial applications. Joint Warfighting Program (JWP) Advanced Concept/Joint Capability Technology Demonstrations (ACTD/JCTD) The goal of ACTD and JCTD programs is to rapidly move advanced technology into the hands of warfighters in the field. These programs do this by marrying new operational concepts with maturing technologies in a joint environment. Consequently, ACTDs and the newer JCTDs reduce the time required to field new capabilities and increase warfighter involvement in developing solutions. Compared with ACTDs, JCTDs focus more on tailoring projects to a combatant commander’s specifically identified needs— emphasizing “needs pull” over historical “technology push.”  Quick Reaction Fund (QRF) Provides flexibility to respond to emergent DoD needs within budget cycle Takes advantage of technology breakthroughs in rapidly evolving technologies Completes projects within a 6-12 month period

DoD Programs Under AT&L DDRE Office of Advanced Systems and Concepts (AS&C) Defense Acquisition Challenge (DAC) Program provides increased opportunities for the introduction of innovative and cost-saving technologies into DoD acquisition programs. Provides an “on-ramp” to DoD acquisition system for small and medium vendors. Foreign Comparative Test program (FCT) provides for the test and evaluation of foreign, non-developmental equipment that demonstrates potential to satisfy sponsor requirements Technology Transition Initiative is intended to accelerate the introduction of new technologies into operational capabilities for the armed forces. Independent Research and Development (IR&D) programs: DTIC offers a site that promotes the exchange of information about IR&D projects and Defense technological needs between the DOD and defense contractors.

DoD Programs Under AT&L DDRE Office of Advanced Systems and Concepts (AS&C) Technology Transfer website (TechTransit) provides access to Department of Defense technology transfer programs policies and resources, and promotes partnering opportunities between the private sector and defense labs and improved accessibility of technology transfer information and activities. The Manufacturing Technology (MANTECH) website is the online source of information on the Department of Defense (DoD) Manufacturing Technology (ManTech) Program and its projects, activities, and funding. The Title III Program is a DoD-wide initiative that establishes, maintains or expands a production capability offered for national defense. Management responsibilities include: program oversight and guidance, strategic planning and legislative proposals, approval of new projects, and liaison with other Federal agencies and Congress.

DoD Programs Under AT&L, International Cooperation Coalition Warfare Program (CWP) Coalition Warfare initiative supports international cooperative development of technological solutions that enable U.S. and friendly armed forces to operate more effectively together across the full spectrum of multinational operations.

DoD Programs under Special Operations Command (SOCOM) Technical Industrial Liaison Office The Technical Industrial Liaison Office is industry’s initial point of contact within USSOCOM. This office has full-time responsibility as industry's interface with the command and can be your source for many informational products. The TILO chairs an Advance Planning Briefing to Industry (APBI) every year. Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (SADBU) This is SOCOM’s entry point for and minority-owned business, as well as unsolicited proposals

Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Doing business with DARPA: DARPA's strategy to accomplish its mission is to provide a forum for the evaluation of competing scientific and technological ideas. Entities seeking R&D support from DARPA should explore the Agency's interests in research by reviewing sources such as the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOps) web site, these Web pages, open literature, published testimony before Congressional committees, and The Department of Defense Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program Solicitation. DARPA welcomes new technical ideas at any time from all public and private entities. If you have a great idea, we want to hear about it!

Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Advanced Systems and Concepts Office (ASCO) identifies, encourages, and executes high-impact projects to encourage new thinking, address technology gaps and improve the operational capabilities of DTRA, DOD and other government agencies in response to weapons of mass destruction (WMD) threats. Composed of a small cadre of military and civilian personnel, augmented by temporary detailers from other government agencies, industry and academia, ASCO asks the tough questions about current and over-the-horizon WMD threats

Army Programs The Rapid Equipping Force (REF) helps warfighters and soldiers address urgent needs on the battlefield that require a quicker response than the normal fielding process or for which there are no currently available means for acquisition.
