A Step Into the Unusual Breaking The Mold

Oboman and Paul Hanson Oboman, also known as Jean-Luc Fillon, is a French oboist, English Horn player, double bass player, electric bass player, orchestra conductor and composer Paul Hanson is an American jazz bassoonist, saxophonist, and duduk player.

OBOE & BASSOON JAZZ : OBOMAN / PAUL HANSON

A Distinct Sound Oboman and Paul Hanson are unique because: Lack of swing Looping Varying instrumentation Stray away from typical jazz structure

Lack of Swing Jazz is known for its unique swing and out-of-the-box rhythmic structure Oboman and Paul Hanson take it one step further by sticking to a looped background rhythm and then the added oboe texture, that does have some variations of swing music.

Varying Instrumentation Typical jazz instruments include: Saxophone Trumpet Trombone Rhythm section (piano, drum set) ect. Some more unusual instruments: Bagpipes French Horn Flute

Making a Statement Oboman and Hanson made a bold move by breaking outside of typical jazz standards Jazz, in many ways, in constantly reinventing itself.
