You will need to include: A topic sentence that generally describes what the Salem witch trials were 3-4 sentences that outline significant events and people that were involved, including what started them and 2-3 significant developments that took place as the trials continued A final sentence that sums up how they ended AND the impact they had in history Staple the rubric to your paper when you turn it into the tray.

Bellringer, Hon 9/6 (1st and 7th per. Only) Have Bellringer papers out and ready to write your answer to the following question after viewing the opening scene of The Crucible movie. I will begin the scene as soon as the bell rings. What differences did you notice in the opening scene from what you read about the historical account of the beginning of the witch trials (i.e., the accounts of Tituba and the girls)?

Bellringer, Hon. 9/6 (2nd, 3rd, 5th) – Do you think the movie version of Tituba and the girls makes a better story than the actual historical account? Why or why not?

Honors Formative Writing assignment due next Wednesday, 9/13: Write an essay comparing and contrasting Act I details to the historical account of Salem witch trials. Your essay should contain at least two body paragraphs—one comparing similarities, and one contrasting differences. In each body paragraph you should include textual evidence from readings/worksheets about historical details and textual evidence from the play. The essay will be graded using the VLT informational essay rubric
