Crayola Marker Watercolor Drawings Art 2

Objectives Demonstrate contrast in value and color using Crayola Marker and water. (range of 8 or more values). Demonstrate a unique texture that may or may not be from your imagination. Demonstrate fine motor control with details. Demonstrate a unique composition with runoff.

Key Vocabulary Runoff – to allow your drawing to literally “run off” the edge of your paper. This provides a more interesting design as it leaves the viewer room to imagine what the object looks like where it disappears.

Examples of Runoff

Examples of Watercolor

Steps to Creating Watercolor Effect Find or create a texture close-up that demonstrates runoff. Draw a detailed sketch of the texture LIGHTLY IN PENCIL. Outline/fill the shapes with marker, starting with the darkest values, and working one small section at a time. After a small section of marker is applied, add water with a brush to wash it out and create the highlighted values.
