Why take Honors/AP/IB Courses at LHHS Honors /AP/IB courses are more challenging and demanding Colleges would like to see students challenge themselves Students receive additional grade points by receiving a weighted academic rank Students register for courses in March/April(teacher recommendation/grades)
Honors vs. AP vs. IB Honors Course … AP (Advanced Placement) Course … Moves faster and goes into greater depth. AP (Advanced Placement) Course … Is a college level class that culminates with an exam in May. can earn college credit. AP courses typically begin in 10th grade IB Course … Is a college level course that has internal assessment and an exam in May. Students in the IB program take Honors or AP coursework in Grades 9 and 10. *IB Diploma courses and testing only occur in Grades 11 & 12.

PSAT 8/9 PSAT 8/9 will be offered to all 9th graders this year free of charge Will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 25th (minimum day schedule) PSAT 8/9 covers topics in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Math PSAT has partnered with Khan Academy to provide free individualized prep and skill assessment
