Technology Foundations Rules & Regulations Miss Dickison Olive Branch Middle School

Welcome to Technology Foundations In order for the learning process to take place: students must pay attention listen to the teacher as directions are given the first time be respectful be courteous be on time Assignments will be on the board daily. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated!! If equipment is damaged, the student will be held accountable for the equipment according to the county’s Technology Acceptable Use Policy.

Supplies Needed for Technology Foundations Headphones or Ear Buds – you are welcome to use your own. Plug in the front of computer.(green) Textbook (kept in room) Periodically, you will need a pencil. All other materials will be provided.

Backpacks Backpacks must be kept under desk and out of the way. Backpacks are NOT to be kept in the walkway.

Assignments All of the work for this class will be completed in the lab. Students have 1 week to complete missing work. Be sure to save and log off before leaving the classroom. Attendance is very important because lessons build on previously lessons. Missing one day could cause you to fall behind several lessons.

Computer Settings Students are NOT allowed to change desktop, screensaver, and/or monitor settings on the computers. All machines must stay uniform for instructional purposes. If changes need to be made, the teacher will make the necessary changes.

Computer Equipment Students are NOT allowed to repair equipment under no circumstances. Check your workstations as you enter and exit the room. Report any and all problems to the teacher immediately! Students are NOT allowed to remove papers from the printer.

Flash Drives ALL students will have a folder created under your log in. Flash drives are not necessary for Technology Foundations.

Chairs Adjust height at the beginning of class There will be NO Rolling or Spinning in the chairs!! No Flicking of the lever that raises or lowers the chair Always push the chairs under the table as you exit the room.

Internet Surfing NO free surfing without permission. Surfing the internet without permission will result in automatic failure of assignments for the day and loss of computer privileges. Occasionally, Fridays will be free Internet day, but only if you have finished all of your assignments for the week.
