MEET THE SITE COORDINATOR Melanie Parrott, RD As coordinator it is my job to: Arrange your placements Track your progress Arrange educational activities Provide support! A bit about me: Graduated from University of Guelph Interned through the Northern Ontario Dietetic Internship Program Currently working on my Masters of Arts in Leadership Worked for Island Health since 2009 all over Vancouver Island

ABOUT THE HEALTH AUTHORITY We provide services to almost 8 hundred thousand people living on Vancouver island, the gulf islands, and the mainland communities north of Powel River. We have over 18,000 staff, including around 100 dietitians.

We currently take 5 students per year! Program Highlights Island Health Interns of 2016/17 Full week of orientation with the other interns Regular education sessions with Island Health Dietitians Opportunity to be paired with a dietitian mentor prior to or during internship Placements in both urban and rural settings We currently take 5 students per year!

Facilities South Island Interns are placed all over Vancouver Island. There is no guarantee that you will be placed in Victoria. Victoria General Hospital, Victoria Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria Interns can expect to change cities once during the internship year to allow for placements in both urban and rural areas. There will be a lot of support for you throughout this process!
