What’s New in SAMT – July 2016 Cisco is providing new capabilities for users to create, see and manage their access requests in Cisco.com profile Account Manager, through the implementation of a robust workflow queue. This new workflow queue also extends into SAMT, providing several benefits to the SAMT Administrators: View all Pending Requests that require action – Bill-to, Contract, and Software Download (previously only pending Software Download requests were displayed within SAMT) Easily approve (or deny) the requests right from the queue “Access Advice,” based on systematic evaluation of the users and the contracts they requested Notification of user changes that may require access to be revoked Click to Continue

What’s New in SAMT – July 2016 This release also provides additional usability enhancements, including: Communication preference settings, giving you control over the emails used to alert you to pending requests and other user notifications Display of basic contract information (Service Level, Bill-to Name and Address, Install- at name and Address, Start Date and Expiration Date) directly in SAMT Ability to create peer SAMT administrators – as a backup, or to administer a subset of the Bill-to-IDs and Contracts you administer Offline report generation, with notification when the report is available for viewing/downloading Click to Continue

Requests A new “Requests” tab is added to SAMT If you have locked your contracts or Bill-to IDs, all user requests for association will appear in your Pending Requests queue. A new “Requests” tab is added to SAMT “Pending Requests” sub-tab is your new SAMT “homepage” Displays submitted Bill-to, Contract, and Software Download access requests that require your action Even if you have contracts that are not locked, you will still see requests here if Cisco’s automation system was not able to determine that the user’s organization is entitled on the contract. Click to Continue

Pending Requests A new “Access Advisor” function provides advice for contract requests, based on systematic evaluation of the user and the contract being requested Currently, Access Advice is only available for individual Contract requests, not Bill-to requests. Advice is determined dynamically, based on the latest information available. So, you might see a spinning wheel here while the system is deciding what advice to give you. Once advice is available, it will be displayed, along with a link to Details. Click to Continue

Pending Requests Access Advisor recommends “Approve” when the system believes access should be granted, but the contract may be locked. If you want the system to automatically associate future requests, you can unlock the contract. New “Access Advisor” function provides advice for contract requests, based on systematic evaluation of the user and the contract being requested Access Advisor recommends “Review” when the system cannot determine if the user works for a company on the contract. Access Advisor recommends “Deny” when there is a problem with the user or the contract. Here, that means something changed after the request was submitted. Click to Continue

Click for Demonstration Pending Requests Additional information is also available: Access Advice details Request details Contract details Click for Demonstration Click to Continue

Click for Demonstration Pending Requests To Approve a Request: Click “Approve” Provide additional information to be shared with other administrators (optional) Click “Submit” Approving while Jim is on vacation. Click for Demonstration Click to Continue

Click for Demonstration Pending Requests To Deny a Request: Click “Deny” Select Reason (required) Unrecognized user Unrecognized company Other Provide explanation (required if reason is “Other”) Click “Submit” Click for Demonstration Click to Continue

History Once you (or another administrator) have approved or denied a request, it is removed from your queue and it moves to the History sub-tab. Click to Continue

Click for Demonstration Notifications Pending requests aren’t the only things that may require your attention. You will also find important information on the Notifications sub-tab, including: User changes that may affect their access to contracts Changes made by other Admins Reminders Click for Demonstration Click to Continue

Notification Preferences You can decide how to be notified of Pending Requests and Notifications Real Time: Separate email for each request (Default / existing behavior) Hourly / Daily: Summary email with number of transactions and a link to your SAMT queue Never (Recommended for backup administrators only) Click to Continue

Click for Demonstration Peer Admins Note that Access Advice is available here, too. The advice is based on the same rules as for contract association for service access. Existing SAMT Administrators can onboard their peers as additional administrators Peer administrators can be set up to administer any subset of the contracts and/or Bill-to IDs that the original administrator manages jshepadmin However, you would normally only grant peer administrator access to people from your own organization. If you grant contract administrator access to you customer, you must ensure there are no other customers on that same contract. Click for Demonstration Click to Continue

Offline Reports All SAMT reports are now requested and run offline. You will be notified by email when the report is completed. You can view/download your generated reports from the Administration tab. Reports remain available online for 2 weeks. Click to Continue

Access Advisor in Manage By Name and Manage by Number Access Advisor is also available on the Manage By Name and Manage By Number screens. Click the Advice icon to perform the systematic evaluation. Click to Continue
