Vision Of The Program Maintain high academic standards Positive role models in school and community Practice and play Hard Fast Physical Aggressive Attack oriented but solid defensively Make runs Win balls Make mistakes and learn from them Never cheap or retaliate

The Program 2 Teams 1 Coach for each team 16 Matches Important Items Varsity (About 16 Players) Junior Varsity (About 18 Players) 1 Coach for each team 16 Matches Important Items Be on time (Dressed, Warming Up, All Equipment) No Swearing Team 1st and always Practice at game speed Respect and watch out for each other at all times

Equipment Each player responsible for their uniform and equipment Each player will get (hopefully) Ball Soccer bag Uniform (Goalies must buy own gloves) Items to be purchased (and kept) Socks Practice package (2 T-shirts, 1 short) Warm-up (Will use for multiple years)

Summer Schedule With Girls’ Program Probably 1 Week in JUN and 1 in JUL TBD Attend MN United match TBD 2 Weeks (1st 2 of AUG) Senior Practice TBD

1st 2 Weeks Of Season 2 per day probably 9-11 and 12:30-2 Morning practice focused on individual skills and fitness type activities Afternoon practice more tactical and positional Lunches Tryouts first 2 ½ days 100’s - 30 sec to run, 1 min to return to start, 10 max (Shooting for min of 7) 10,20,30,40,50 shuttle run (Shooting for 80 sec) Mostly 2v2 and higher game type events Looking for: Skill, Fitness, Attitude, Coachability, Desire, Communication, Teamwork, Effort

Season Practices Matches 1:30 ish for most of season More dependent on what we need to address Less fitness drills Matches 1 hr prior to start time Attempt to play everyone for real amount of time Focus on the match on bench Don’t referee the match, just play Respect players, referees, coaches, fans Don’t quit

End Of Season Will fill varsity roster to 20 field players and 2 goalies Practices less than 1:30 Post season banquet with awards and such

Cutting Policy Can’t cut 9th graders 16 Varsity and 18 Junior Varsity only an estimate May have more or less on each team Will try to find a spot for every player Seniors must make varsity

Lettering Policy Must be on varsity team Not based on game time No game time lost due to discipline issues Based on: Performance, Attitude, Contribution, Work Ethic Uniforms turned in and all fees/fines paid Must have attended community project Severely injured players will be reviewed on a case by case basis Coaches reserve the right to letter a player based on special circumstances Not a right just because you are a varsity player

Awards TBD All Conference and Honorable Mention: All State: MVP Most Improved Rookie of the Year All Conference and Honorable Mention: Number of awards is determined by final conference standings, nominated by the coach, selected by conference coaches All State: Top athletes by position Nominated athletes must be all conference Conference coaches rank the nominees Conference representative brings list to state meeting to determine the all state selections

Odds And Ends Do the right thing at all times Formation TBD Will have various themes for home matches TBD Will have various team building activities Will have min of 1 team dinner per week End of 2 per day practices Will do a community project TBD Some things done with girls’ program Fundraising kept to a minimum but everyone expected to participate

Odds And Ends Each week will have a discussion time on various topics TBD Possible overnight trip to Duluth playing 2-3 matches Captains will be selected after tryouts end Probably 3 (2 Seniors and 1 Junior) TBD Location of practices TBD Once season has started only school logos Check website weekly for new and/or important information
