LITERACY
Literacy: The 4th grade team uses “The Daily Five” model to teach literacy. Read to Self Read to Someone Listen to Reading Work on Writing Word Work

Literacy Small Groups: Guided Reading Groups: Strategy Groups: Are determined by student’s reading level. Students will read the same book and work on various skills together. Determined by a particular skill or objective. Reading levels within the group will vary. Students will be reading different books, but working on a similar skill. * In both settings, groups will change regularly to meet student needs.

Report Cards & Grading: Report cards go home at the end of each nine weeks. Eagle Reports go home halfway through each quarter. 1st Eagle Report – Wednesday, Sept. 25 1st Report Card – Monday, Nov. 4 Students will receive a proficiency level of 1, 2, 3 or 4 on their report card. These are standards-based.
