How to improve your GCSE grade

Make sure they know what tier they are entered for Either Higher or Foundation

Key to success……. Practise, Practise, Practise,….. Our Maths Department has found that the more practice exam style questions the students complete the more prepared they are for their final exam. This includes both in lessons and at home.

Resources We have started preparing the students with exam style questions but there are resources which the students can use at home Corbettmaths.com Mathswatch disc Mymaths.co.uk Revision Guides MLE Mathsbot.com

MLE- GCSE

MLE On our MLE you can find Practice papers Questions linked to mock exams the students have taken (AfL activities) Excel Question generators at grades 4-6 and 7-9 Revision lists Likely topic areas for paper 2 and paper 3

Equipment Pen Pencil Protractor Ruler Rubber Compass A scientific Calculator We can not guarantee your child will be given any of the above so they must come fully equipped for the exam.

Calculators Familiarise yourself with your own calculator Bring it to school every day They need to know how to use the calculator over time not just on the day of the exam If they are bringing their calculator to lessons over the next two months and know how to use it, this could equate to at least 15 marks
