Miss Goins’ Classroom News September 1 – NO SCHOOL! We will be reading our next story in the Reading Street series this week entitled Want About Me. We will bring our books home on Wednesday. Please reread the story that night and we will take our comprehension test on Thursday. We are learning about subjects and predicates and will have our grammar quiz on Thursday. We are continuing a unit in math over mental addition and subtraction and estimation. In reading we are learning how to ask and answer questions about the text by referring to the text for our answers. We will have our comprehension test on Thursday. We are continuing writing workshop and we are writing about our lives. We are continuing our first unit in social studies which covers economics. We are learning about budgets and making responsible choices. In grammar we are learning about subjects and predicates. September 1 – NO SCHOOL! September 3 – Early Release at 2:35
