The fire alarm is sounding! Fire Card number 1 BRIAN EXPLAIN FIRE MARSHALL PROCEDURES OVER NEXT FEW SLIDES FIRE MARSHALL 1 The fire alarm is sounding! You must take control of the situation and do the following: Ensure that the Fire Department have been notified Check the location of the activation on the fire panel Put on the fluorescent waistcoat Issue each Fire Marshal as they arrive to reception with their fire card and fluorescent waistcoats. Give instruction to Fire Marshals Remain in reception area and direct evacuating guests to the fire assembly point Inform the Fire Service, on their arrival of the location of the alarm and issue them with any other information that they may require Ensure that no-one returns to the building until the Fire Service authorises it Do not re-set the fire panel unless requested by the Fire Officer, otherwise let the Fire Service re-set it Complete the logbook with ALL the details, ask the Fire Officer to sign the Fire Policy Sign and date…………………………………………………………

Fire Card number 2 BRIAN FIRE MARSHALL 2 The fire alarm is sounding! Fire Marshall 1 is controlling the situation. As Fire Marshall 2 you must: Put on the fluorescent waistcoat Take the sign-in book to the fire assembly point together with pad and pencil, torch if necessary Delegate a member of staff to keep the everyone in one area, check names against the sign-in book and report back with names not accounted for Report back to Fire Marshall 1 of details of anyone not accounted for Return and stay at the assembly point with all evacuees until the Fire Service authorises a return to the building Talk with the guests to keep them informed of the situation When advised inform guests they may re-enter the building Sign and date…………………………………………………….

As Fire Marshall 3 you must: Put on the fluorescent waistcoat Sweep the viewing area by calling out from the entrance door leading to this area, check for smoke and heat on the door before opening Return to the reception and report back to the Fire Manager, make your way to assembly point to assist Fire Marshall 2 Stay at assembly point until the Fire Service authorises a return to the building Sign and date………………………………………...
