Population YIC Serves Foster Youth ages 12 to 20 who: Youth in or aging out of foster care have no support; have had multiple foster placements; are placed in kinship care; Are placed in guardianship with non-family members; Have experienced prior Child Welfare involvement; Are homeless or have run away from home; are pregnant or parenting; and/or are experiencing school behavior problems, multiple unexcused absences, and at risk

Performance Measures Output Outcome
YIC Performance measures: Outputs 500 FY will receive 25 hours or less of life skills mentoring 250 FY/mentor matches will commence and youth will receive 26+ hours of Life Skills Mentoring, over the span of 9- 12 months.
175 FY/Mentor matches sustained and youth receive 52+ hrs of Life skills Training 85 FY mentored 7+ hours in financial literacy activities
YIC Performance measures: Outcomes 165 of 250 FY who receive 26+ hours of life skills mentoring will demonstrate improved academic engagement. 115 of 175 foster youth who receive 52+ hours of life skills mentoring will demonstrate competency in three or more CLSA domains.
Financial Literacy 70 of 85 foster youth who receive 7+ hours of financial literacy services will demonstrate improved financial knowledge.
Attendance & graduation 100 of 175 foster youth who receive 26+ hours of life skills mentoring will demonstrate improved academic engagement as shown by increased attendance. 70 of 115 foster youth who receive 52+ hours of life skills mentoring will graduate from high school with a diploma.
YIC Volunteer Recruitment Output 400 Volunteers will contribute 3,050+ hours to support foster youth. 150 Ongoing volunteer and 250 one time volunteers will be recruited 75 mentor-mentee relationships will be sustained for 4 hours per month for 6 months.

Supervisor Responsibilities Initial Assessment Evaluation Supervisor completes within first 30 days of service Obtains baseline of members’ skills upon enrollment Observe member in service setting Midterm Performance Evaluation Member self-evaluates & completes Supervisor evaluates performance & provides skills rating Review together, both sign and date. Send original to YIC Project Manager. Mail or drop-off. Final Performance Evaluation Must be completed within the last 30 days of term Same process as midterm evaluation
Timesheets Site Supervisors are responsible for reviewing members’ timesheets and checking for accuracy. Inaccurate timesheets must be rejected. This allows the member to correct and re-submit for approval. Site Supervisor must approve timesheet by due date or else living allowance check will be mailed late to member.

Member-member mentoring In 2017-2018 each member will be paired with a fellow YIC AmeriCorps member. They will be required to check in at least once a month with one another and will also check in with YIC Project Manager.

Member must bring application, 2 reference letters and member contract reviewed with site supervisor and initialed in order to enroll.

2017-2018 Enrollment Procedure continued Site Supervisor will email to CAPC all pre-enrollment documents When cleared, CAPC will notify site supervisor of applicant clearance, and schedule Pre-Service Orientation for applicant Member contract will be sent to Applicant and Site Supervisor for review. Site supervisor must initial first page of contract. Applicant will attend PSO on first day of term (start of pay period). Applicant will bring application & reference letters, reviewed member contract w/ supervisor’s initials. Applicant will sign member contract at PSO.
