LESSONS FROM THE WILDERNESS - XII When Life Seems Overwhelming Text: Exodus 14:1-31

INTRODUCTION: “Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you” I Peter 4:12

The Good News Is, We Can Stay Positive When Life Seems Overwhelming The Good News Is, We Can Stay Positive When Life Seems Overwhelming. How? We Must: . . .

I. RECOGNIZE GOD’S PURPOSE When we face difficulties in life, God wants to accomplish two things: 1) He wants to make known His glory to others and 2) He wants to teach us to trust Him completely. Exodus 14:4; Psalm 30:5 NKJV

II. RETAIN GOD’S PERSPECTIVE “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die?” Exodus 14:11 It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert.” Exodus 14:12

III. RELY ON GOD’S PROMISES “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you only need to be still.” Exodus 14:13
