INTERVENTION/COACHING GUIDELINES Observe from a distance (unless there is immediate danger). Give feedback as close to when the behaviour occurred as possible. Introduce yourself and say why you have stopped him/her. Ask what the hazards are (get the employee’s viewpoint). Discuss the unsafe behavior and why it is unsafe. Ask for input regarding solutions. Include what you want. Agree on what the employee needs to do differently and ask him/him to paraphrase it, to gauge understanding. Module 3
