SPECIAL FOCUS EMPOWERING & BUILDING CAPACITY OF WOMEN

Women have become more conscious about Social and health issues. Women’s Empowerment … Women’s empowerment are being evident from their participation in the village planning, development and implementation process. Promotion of Women SHGs by the Project has enabled them to be more independent economically. Women have become more conscious about Social and health issues. Women SHGs have become complementary to the NaRM Gs. Women voice are now increasingly heard in village, particularly in planning and developmental issues

Second generation SHGs and NaRM-Gs are already beginning to emerge Emphasis on youth & Employment … The Project is emphasizing on bringing in actively the youths into the process of Project development Second generation SHGs and NaRM-Gs are already beginning to emerge Youths are also being given training particularly in income generating activities and planning along with the elders The above are the seeds of sustainability

Role of ICT Project is beginning to seriously think of role of IT for the development of communities To begin with CICs will be explored to become IT centres for the project villages IT will be brought into picture particularly for marketing The above thus have many limitations due to ground constraints ICT would also be used in sharing of knowledge and learning through Village Knowledge Centres / Village Resource Centres.

Marketing linkage is in process in the following products/produces: Marketing Plan … Marketing linkage is in process in the following products/produces: Aloe Vera, Safed Musli, Coleus, Vanilla, Raulfia, Gerenium, Patchouli, Passion Fruit, King Chilly, Ginger, Pineapple 2. Thrust is being laid on value addition 3. Marketing planned for various produces at different levels like local, block / district hq level, bigger locations like State Capitals, and outside the North East

Marketing Plan … 4. SHGs & NaRM Gs are regularly selling their products/ produces in the local market. 5. Tie-ups are being done to give better returns to the farmers by selling their marketable surplus at the district/state market centres. 6. Logistic Planning for selling the marketable surplus more profitably is under process. 7. In order to make effective use of Information Technology in marketing, initiatives are being taken. 8. SHGs & NaRM Gs federations / Associations are being organised as marketing agencies 9. Some selected NGOs to be made specialized marketing organisations
