Introduction to NEW YORK CITY The population of New York city is 8,200,000 people. The size of New York City is 321 square miles. The five boroughs are Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island. There are many cultures in NYC. People come to New York to eat food and listen to music.
Introduction of Ellis Island Ellis Island was the first stop for most immigrants from Europe. From 1892 to 1954, over 12 million people entered into the United States through Ellis Island.
History of Ellis Island Samuel Ellis built the main building on Ellis Island on January 20, 1785. Fire destroyed Ellis Island in 1897 and it was rebuilt five years later. Ellis Island helps people to remember where their relatives came from as immigrants from other countries.
Location of Ellis Island The location of Ellis Island is New Jersey and New York, USA. Ellis Island is located at the mouth of the Hudson River in New York Harbor. To get to Ellis Island you must take the ferry.
