Parts of a Resume Introduction: Contact Information Objective Education Work Experience Skills Activities

Final Semester Maintain connections with mentors, friends, etc. Set up LinkedIn account Attend as many events as possible Maintain activities and professional organizations Connect with references You can even think about your experiences in classrooms such as large projects, relevant coursework, etc. Think of things that are not normally thought of as “experiences” Encourage students to brainstorm everything they’re proud of. If you are a sophomore or older, you must get rid of high school information. If you are a freshman that is heavily involved, get rid of high school too. 11

Before the First Day Meet with you new boss or teammates Learn about your new employer See if anyone in your network knows future co-workers Plan more conservative outfits for the beginning Plan your travel route

First Day on The Job Take notes If you don’t know, ask Listen Get on the same page Arrive early Remember names and plan your introduction Be positive Don’t bolt at the end of the day
