Why are we here? Homeshare could be relevant to… … your staff ….your clients …and possibly your family, your neighbours or yourself!

What is Homeshare Oxford? HOUSEHOLDERS In Oxford who have a spare room PROFESSIONALS Who need affordable accommodation in Oxford City Provide accommodation Share their home Provide up to 10 hours of help around the home each week Pay a contribution to living costs

Who can take part? Householders: Homesharers: May be elderly and/or retired May want to help the younger generation May value some help around the home May be lonely or isolated OR many other things... Must live in Oxford City Must have permission to have a Homesharer Homesharers: May be professionals (e.g. Nurses, care workers, teachers, police officers) May be post-graduate students (e.g. PhD) May need affordable accommodation near to their place of work OR many other things... Must be willing to give some help around the home Must be able to afford the contribution to living costs

Help Around the Home 10 hours per week: 10 hours per week is the maximum, it could be less or vary week to week Tasks: e.g. Tidying, gardening, cleaning, cooking BUT not onerous and not 10 hours of ‘extra work’ and many things they would be doing anyway (cooking for 2 instead of 1, taking bins out) Companionship: e.g. Watching television, going to the theatre, having a chat and a cup of tea... We keep an eye: - An A4 weekly record allows us to evaluate the scheme and better support each match
