What is Accelerated Reader? A research-based technological tool that provides accountability for independent reading practice. It provides frequent and immediate feedback to teachers and students which assures high levels of success

How does AR work? *Students are given a computer adaptive assessment that provides grade-equivalent and percentile-reading scores. The STAR Assessment gives teachers, parents, and students an independent reading range. STAR Reading combines brief, vocabulary in-context items with authentic text passage items to help you pinpoint students’ reading levels more accurately and efficiently. * The STAR assess students' reading levels in less than 10 minutes. * Any student with at least a 100-word reading vocabulary can take a test.

How does AR Work? Cont. Using the Star Assessment, students are given an individualized reading point and reading level goal. Students choose books within their independent reading level. Students read the book during school or at home. Students should take the quiz within 24-48 hours of completion of book.
