Manchester’s Sport & Physical Activity Consultation Heath Cole Manchester City Council Sport and Leisure team

The Sport & Leisure team Sport Strategy team; working with National Governing Bodies (e.g. The FA/ RFU) and local clubs and teams Facilities Team; manage swimming pools, leisure centres, parks and data Working with communities; Sport & Physical Activity e.g. Citywide Sport Activators, community development and volunteering School Sport Team; School swim programme, and provide approved coaches

Why are we consulting? Last year Sport England agreed their 10 year forward strategy for sport and physical activity. We’re talking to residents and city-wide groups ensure our plans meets the city’s needs and matches national funding priorities. Our aim was to reach every section of the city’s population; but early feedback suggest we are not reaching people from Black & Ethnic Minorities.
