LEARNING OBJECTIVES Understand the Teacher Support program and the 3 activities under it. Understand the context of Teacher Training and why it is important to take up this activity. Understand the different types of teacher training structures. Understand the implementation process of teacher training – without RILM grant and with RILM grant support. PDG. WHY SHOULD A CLUB UNDERTAKE TEACHER TRAINING ? According to the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2014: reading levels of students are low. In Std. VIII 25% students still cannot read Std. II level text. The report further suggests that students are struggling with mathematics. In 2014, only 25.3% of Std. III children could do a two digit subtraction. PDG. How can A CLUB CONDUCT TEACHER TRAINING without grant ? Identify a school and take consent from authority. Identify trainer and finalize topics (in consultation with RILM). Finalize the dates of the training. Prepare budget. Arrange venue and other logistics. Against point 4 inform- In case there are less than 25 schools, club representative would need to familiarize themselves with functioning of the software and conduct such orientation themselves in individual schools or collectively for all schools. How can A CLUB CONDUCT TEACHER TRAINING without grant ? On training day, conduct a Pre Teacher Training assessment of teachers (Form no. TT 3.1). Conduct a post training assessment of the teachers (Form No. TT4.1). Upload project report on the RILM website. Conduct a Refresher/ Follow-Up Training after 2-3 months . Against point 4 inform- In case there are less than 25 schools, club representative would need to familiarize themselves with functioning of the software and conduct such orientation themselves in individual schools or collectively for all schools. How can A CLUB do a grant-linked project? Step 1 Once a Project Offer for Corporate Support is announced through the TEACH App and website), confirm your commitment online. Step 2 Collect information as required in grant application Step 3 Fill in the grant application form in RILM Website in order to receive in-principal approval from RILM-Office. How can A CLUB do a grant-linked project? Step 4 A tripartite agreement is signed between RSAS and RID/IWD and Club . After this, Club donates its contribution, if any to RILM. Step 5 Club supervises training and conducts the pre and post training assessment and other points mentioned in the MoU. WHY DOES RILM PRESCRIBE SUPPPLEMENTAL TEACHING? The learning level of students is low. One approach to address this can be to involve volunteer teachers in schools, who will provide subject support to the students and also engage in Co-curricular activities.
