The Community Give Prizes and Prize Rules

Prizes The Community Foundation and participating Sponsors are offering (at least) 94 prizes worth $100,000 in total: 3 Grand Prizes 48 Golden Tickets 5 No Place Like Home 12 Power Hour 5 Small But Mighty 2 Goal Prizes Various pre-event prizes

Grand Prizes Three "Grand" Prizes, each valued at $10,000, will be awarded based upon the following criteria: $10,000 The Community Foundation "Grand" Prize - awarded to the nonprofit that receives the highest total dollar amount raised during The Community Give.  $10,000 Kaeser Compressors "Grand" Prize - awarded to the nonprofit that receives the highest total number of unique gifts received during The Community Give.  $10,000 The Community Enrichment "Grand" Prize - awarded to the nonprofit that wins a random drawing. To qualify for this drawing, a nonprofit must receive 100 unique gifts or more during The Community Give. The winner will receive a $10,000 endowed fund at The Community Foundation that is designated to benefit the winning nonprofit. The [Winning Nonprofit Organization] Fund of The Community Foundation will become a permanent fund recognized in the Foundation’s annual report and website. The fund will be invested to maximize long-term growth with 5 percent distributed annually to the winning nonprofit in perpetuity.

“No Place like Home” Prizes Five $1,500 "No Place Like Home" Prizes will be awarded to the nonprofits that receive the most unique gifts from each of the localities that make up the Rappahannock River region. Any participating nonprofit can win a "No Place Like Home" Prize, regardless of where the organization is physically located. To award these prizes, The Community Foundation tallies unique gifts based on the zip code of the donor. Caroline County - awarded to the nonprofit that receives the highest number of unique gifts with a Caroline County zip code: Bowling Green 22427, 22428, Corbin 22446, Ladysmith 22501, Port Royal 22535, Rappahannock Academy 22538, Ruther Glen 22546, Sparta 22552, Woodford 22580 City of Fredericksburg - awarded to the nonprofit that receives the highest number of unique gifts with a Fredericksburg zip code: 22401, 22402, 22404 King George County - awarded to the nonprofit that receives the highest number of unique gifts with a King County zip code: 22485, Jersey 22481, Dahlgren 22448, Dogue 22541, Ninde 22526, Rollins Fork 22544, Sealston 22547  Spotsylvania County - awarded to the nonprofit that receives the highest number of unique gifts with a Spotsylvania County zip code: 22407, 22408, 22551, 22553, Thornburg 22565, Partlow 22534  Stafford County - awarded to the nonprofit that receives the highest number of unique gifts with a Stafford County zip code: 22403, 22405, 22406, Brooke 22430, Garrisonville 22463, Hartwood 22471, Ruby 22545, 22554, 22555, 22556 

“The Honeywell Charitable Fund Golden Ticket” Prizes Forty-eight $500 "Golden Ticket" Prizes will be awarded during The Community Give.   Two winners will be drawn hourly and at random for 24 hours.  To qualify, a nonprofit must receive one or more unique gifts during the hour. 

“Small But Mighty” Prizes Five $1,000 "Small But Mighty" Prizes will be awarded to nonprofits that are operated entirely by volunteers  OR   have no more than one full-time, compensated employee.  To award these prizes, The Community Foundation applies the following criteria: Kelly and Fitz Johnson Overall Prize - awarded to the nonprofit that receives the highest total number of unique gifts received between 12:00am and 11:59pm Midnight Shift Prize - awarded to the nonprofit that receives the highest total number of unique gifts received between 12:00am and 1:00am Access Eye Opener Prize - awarded to the nonprofit that receives the highest total number of unique gifts received between 6:00am and 8:00am Stafford Printing Afternoon Social Prize - awarded to the nonprofit that receives the highest total number of unique gifts received between 4:00pm and 5:00pm Wack General Contractor Build Up Prize - awarded to the nonprofit that receives the highest total number of unique gifts received between 9:00pm and 11:00pm

“Power Hour” Prizes Twelve $2,000 "Power Hour" Prizes will be awarded based on the highest total number of unique gifts received during a "Power Hour" time period, as specified below: SimVentions Midnight Shift Prizes - three prizes awarded to the three nonprofits that receive the first, second, and third highest number of unique gifts between 12:00am and 1:00am Crack of Dawn Prizes - three prizes awarded to the three nonprofits that receive the first, second, and third highest number of unique gifts between 6:00am and 8:00am Afternoon Lift Prizes - three prizes awarded to the three nonprofits that receive the first, second, and third highest number of unique gifts between 4:00pm and 5:00pm Home Stretch Prizes - three prizes awarded to the three nonprofits that receive the first, second, and third highest number of unique gifts between 9:00pm and 11:00pm

“Goal” Prizes The Community Foundation believes we can inspire 10,000 donors and raise $1,000,000 during The Community Give. Make it a Million! To celebrate, the Foundation plans to award these prizes: $500 Record Breaker Prize awarded to the nonprofit that receives the 7,500th gift. $500 Record Breaker Prize awarded to the nonprofit that receives the gift 750,000th dollar. $500 10,000th Gift Goal Prize awarded to the nonprofit that receives the 10,000th gift. $500 Million Dollar Goal Prize awarded to the nonprofit that receives the 1,000,000th dollar.

“Pre-Event” Prizes To keep things fun and light – a few pre-event prizes are in the works. Stay tuned for more details! Additional Pre-Event Prizes to be announced. Prizes for nonprofits will be awarded on Friday, April 24th at our pre-event rally.

Rules and Exclusions Unique Gifts Grand Prizes Small But Mighty Prizes One online gift of $25 or more to one nonprofit from one donor qualifies as a unique gift. Grand Prizes A single nonprofit may win only one of the three Grand prizes. If a nonprofit qualifies for more than one Grand prize, the nonprofit may choose which Grand prize they prefer. The remaining Grand prize will be awarded to the next qualified nonprofit. Small But Mighty Prizes A single nonprofit may not win both the Power Hour prize and the Small But Mighty or the during the same hour. If a nonprofit qualifies for both a Small But Mighty prize and a Power Hour prize during the same period, the Small But Mighty will be awarded to the next qualified nonprofit Post-Event The Community Foundation reserves the right to verify all prizes after the event and awards are not considered final until The Community Foundation announces them as final.

The Donation Station The Donation Station – online and offline (check) gifts Donors drop by our office or a participating Union Bank branch location to complete a form specifying their favorite nonprofits and attach one check. Volunteers enter donations manually, in the order they receive them. Donations will appear on the Leaderboard as they are entered. No transaction fees will be applied.
