The Dual Career Network Germany Founded in June 2010 in Berlin 43 members Universities, dual career networks with universities and other research institutions Goals: Professionalization and institutionalization Quality standards Joint PR Multipliers and exchange of contacts Strengthening the German research area June 2010: 20 members almost every university‘s dual career service is a member of the network We all started with terminated contracts and the dual career services were regarded as projects. www.dcnd.org Members of the DCND (April 2016)

DCND – Structure Functions Financing Conferences Two speakers, elected for two years by the network Treasurer Task forces: Finances, public relations, strategy, quality management Financing 2010-2012 start up funding by the Stifterverband für die deutsche Wissenschaft Since 2013: cost sharing by the member Conferences One conference every 9 month At changing members‘ institutions Duration: 1,5 days Participation rate: min. 70 % speakers: all the posts are on voluntary base, the colleagues do their DCND work during their regular working time the recent contribution is 50,- EUR per member organisation and year Stifterverband: innovation agency for the German science system © private
