Cloud is a metaphor for Internet
Before Cloud Computing You had a Data Center that housed servers for running applications All of your applications and data existed on those servers usually at your organization’s location Your network connected you to that server in the data center through your PC allowing you access to the data and applications
With Cloud Computing You subscribe to a service that is located in a distributed data center and usually on many servers Your applications and data can exist in many locations The Internet connects you to the service to access your data and applications using things like your web browser, mobile app, xbox, etc.
