Houston Market Movements The EDGE Information and news that gives you an edge in the real estate business Houston Market Movements Across the country, many potential home buyers are simply not in the market at this time of year as school-aged children settle into routines and the gainfully employed focus more on end-of-year goals and holiday planning than moving. But not all home buyers are the same. Consider first-time buyers with no children, relocated employees, investment buyers, bargain- hunters and those with generally fewer ties to established routines. In the Houston region, for the week ending October 8: • New Listings increased 4.9% to 2,526 • Pending Sales increased 19.4% to 1,856 • Closed Sales decreased 0.3% to 1,196
