Back To School Night Acacia Elementary Mrs. Mills 3rd Grade Room 6 all 3 of us

Thank You Parents & Students Acacia families have made the transition from a school I taught at for 17 years truly great. We are in this together. The parents, child and teacher are all pieces of a puzzle that when put together allow children to grow, learn, and be successful. Communication is vital so we can work together. Thank you for reaching out when you need something. Texting is my favorite way to be reached so please sign up for REMIND. I would like to share a weekly “Sneak Peek” into our classroom. Thank you again for the supplies you donated this year. brandy

Success Strategies for Students Show respect for all students and teachers. Our entire classroom behavior management is based on RESPECT. Be responsible with HW, supplies, and your own learning. Listening and paying attention is crucial. Working hard, doing your best, never giving up, and learning from mistakes are traits of a successful scholar Read, practice math, take AR quizzes and check out books that are the right level from my library daily. alina

Class Website Great resource that offers reminders, contact information, HW help, links to learning sites, and student projects to view. Updated weekly for your convenience. tinyurl.com/vpmillswebsite alina

Classroom Management Expectations revolve around RESPECT. Students decided upon 5 rules they agreed to follow: Be responsible with jobs and learning Take care of everyone’s property Have a sharing attitude Help others all the time Be kind in everything you do Positive rewards include cheers, team points, tickets, catches, Principal Weekly Award, and noodle jar Areas to work on begin with a Whisper Warning, followed by the Parking Lot, then a Fix It Ticket, and finally an individualized plan that fits the student’s needs if it’s necessary alina

Homework A chance to practice what has been learned in class A chance to practice responsibility HW books go home and come back to school everyday Reading: 30-40 minutes and log the information Optional activities from a menu Spelling: Practice words and their meanings AND choose an activity to complete daily. Math: Practice page placed in HW book, corrected daily in class HW books are checked periodically, like a spot check, on random days and the responsibility grade is recorded. Parents, please encourage your child to do their best, turn assignments in, add their name and #, and check their work too brandy
