4 ways of Entering the World 1. Creation 2. Formation 3. Generation 4. Incarnation

Hypostatic Union Union of deity and humanity in one person Sinless human nature inseparably and eternally united with divine nature

Hypostatic Union truths 2 natures are distinguished but not separated Became something new while not ceasing to be God Humanity of Christ never had an independent existence

Hypostatic Union truths Christ is not able to sin Christ’s humanity is not independent of His deity Christ never acts as man or as God, He acts as Christ= God manifest in flesh

Incarnataion of Christ: The Son of God, the second person of the Trinity, being very and eternal God, of one substance and equal with the Father, did when the fulness of the time was come, take upon Him man’s nature, with all the essential properties and common infirmities thereof, yet without sin, being conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit in the womb of the virgin-

Incarnataion of Christ: -Mary of her substance, so that two whole, perfect and distinct natures, the godhead and the manhood, were inseparable joined together in one person, without conversion, composition or confusion, which person is very God and very man, yet one Christ, the only mediator between God and man

1. Jesus was conceived in the womb Luke 1 24, 31, 36 “conception” Virgin birth Overshadowing of the Holy Spirit prevented inheriting a sinful human nature

Jesus had a physical body John 1:14- “Logos” first used 600 BC Ethical dualism- good vs evil Eschataolgical/Supernatural dualism Psychological dualism- body vs soul

Romans 8:3 Jesus was sent His own Son “flesh which was dominated by sin” Gospel of Salvation depends upon genuineness of Lord’s humanity
