Banded Sea Snake These snakes are found in every ocean except for the Atlantic ocean. They are smooth-scaled and have a pale shade of blue with black bands hints there name the banded snake.

Characteristics They are most active at night, swimming close to the shore and at times they swim into tide pools. Its venom is a very strong neurotoxin and its victims are usually fishermen who untangle fishnets that the snake might get caught in.

Length The average length of a banded sea snake is about 75 centimeters, the maximum is 1.2 meters long.
