Describe the battle of Britain. BR #1:Monday, Feb. 13 Describe the battle of Britain. How did FDR bypass the neutrality acts? Did you know: PRINCE Rogers Nelson was a singer, song writer, composer and musical genius. On his first album he played virtually all of the instruments...27 of them! Beloved for his unique sound and image, Prince, sold over 100 million records world wide.

BR #2: Tuesday, Feb. 14 What was considered Hitler’s greatest mistake? Why will December 7, 1941 live in infamy? Who were the big three? What agreements did they make? Did you know: On this day in 1817, abolitionist and author Frederick Douglass was born. Though Douglass was born a slave, he escaped in 1838 and eventually settled with his wife in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Douglass published his autobiography, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave in 1845. Douglass consulted with President Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War and helped influence the Emancipation Proclamation. After President Lincoln’s death, Mrs. Lincoln sent Douglass her late husband’s walking stick.

Which battle was the turning point in Europe? Why? BR #3: Wednesday, Feb. 15 Which battle was the turning point in Europe? Why? What were the following operations: Husky, Shingle, Torch and Overlord? What was Hitler’s last offensive? Did you know: On this day in 1848, 5-year-old Sarah Roberts was barred from an all-white school in Boston. Her father had attempted to transfer her to the school because of it being closer to their home. Her barring led to her father, Benjamin Roberts, filing what would be the first school integration suit on his daughter’s behalf. Though the judge in the trial, Roberts v. Boston, ruled in favor of the defendant, the issue would not die there. Roberts brought the issue to the state legislature with the aid of his lawyer Charles Sumner. Less than a decade later, in 1855, the state of Massachusetts banned segregated schools within the state. The ban in Massachusetts was the first law prohibiting segregated schools in the United States.

Explain the policy of appeasement. BR #4: Thursday, Feb. 16 Explain the policy of appeasement. What is V-E day and when did it occur? Did you know: On this day Joe Frazier knocked out Jimmy Ellis in the second round of their New York fight and became the world heavyweight boxing champion. Joseph William "Joe" Frazier, nicknamed "Smokin' Joe", was an American professional boxer who competed from 1965 to 1981. He reigned as the undisputed heavyweight champion from 1970 to 1973, and as an amateur won a gold medal at the 1964 Summer Olympics.
