“From Birth” Isaiah 49:1-6 10/07/2012 Dr. Dane Boyles

Isaiah 49:1 ESV 1 Listen to me, O coastlands, and give attention, you peoples from afar. The Lord called me from the womb, from the body of my mother he named my name.

Isaiah 41:24 24 you [idols] are less than nothing and you can do nothing; those who choose you are detestable.

Luke 1:31 31 And you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.

Isaiah 49:2 2 He made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me a polished arrow; in his quiver he hid me away.

John 7:46 46 No one ever spoke like this man.

Mark 1:22 22 And they were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes.

Luke 20:26 26 And they were not able in the presence of the people to catch him in what he said, but marveling at his answer they became silent.

Isaiah 49:3 3 And he said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified.”

Mark 1:10-11 10 And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”

Isaiah 49:4 ESV 4 But I said, “I have labored in vain; I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity; yet surely my right is with the Lord, and my recompense with my God.”

Luke 19:38 38 Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!

Matthew 23:37 37 How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not!”

Isaiah 49:5 5 And now the Lord says, he who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob back to him; and that Israel might be gathered to him— for I am honored in the eyes of the Lord, and my God has become my strength—

Isaiah 49:6 6 “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”

Isaiah 49:15 15 Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you

Isaiah 49:20 20 The children of your bereavement will yet say in your ears: ‘The place is too narrow for me; make room for me to dwell in.’

Isaiah 49:21 21 Then you will say in your heart: ‘Who has borne me these? I was bereaved and barren, exiled and put away, but who has brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; from where have these come?’”

Isaiah 49:22 22 This is what the Lord says: “Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations, and raise my signal to the peoples; and they shall bring your sons in their bosom, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders.

Mark 10:29 29 “I tell you the truth,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel

Mark 10:30 30 will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life.
