What makes a society civilised?

Objectives To develop an understanding of some of the main features of Imperial Chinese society To use sources to extract information about Chinese society To discuss whether China was a civilized society in comparison to the Romans and Anglo Saxons.

Imperial China We will focus on 221 B.C. till 1279 A.D

Tasks Draw the spider diagram from page 4 in your books, adding any extra points that you feel are necessary Read through the three sources about China (A-C on page 5) and make a list of points that show China was civililised Now as a group compare the three civilizations: which one is the most civilized and why?
