BACKGROUND Established in 1936 as an association for municipal managers responsible for public parks, forestry and open spaces. A registered NGO and common law association Core membership still based within municipalities but also universities and tertiary institutions and individuals Approximately 1000 members – representing the field of recreation and parks management, cemetery management and environment protection Members responsible for all IERM activities on a voluntary basis Total of 10 branches, representing provinces
