It is amazing to think that our words mean much less than the signals our body sends to the recipients.

Facial expressions are a very common way that we use to communicate every day.

Happiness Eyes squinted Cheeks raised Corners of the lips raised Wrinkles around the eyes Eyes squinted Cheeks raised Corners of the lips raised If a person smiles, but there are no wrinkles around the eyes, then the smile is false.

Sadness The upper eyelids are slightly lowered The stare is at a loss Corners of lips are down The upper eyelids are slightly lowered The stare is at a loss

Anger Eyebrows are lowered and kept close The upper eyelids are lifted The lower eyelids are tense The stare is intent The nostrils are extended The lips are either compressed or open teeth If the eyebrows are not lowered and kept close – the anger is false. A person wants only to scare you. If a person shouts and his eyebrows are up – it is an attempt to convince you.

Contempt can only refer to the person or to his or her actions. Lower eyelids are lifted One corner of the mouth is lifted Contempt can only refer to the person or to his or her actions.
