Academic Services Overview Academic Services provides support for all SEHD students We are your one-stop location for everything from admissions to graduation, such as registration forms, degree and licensure completion, and other processes Lawrence Street Center, 7th Floor (701) (303) 315-6300 www.ucdenver.edu/education Academic Advisors and staff Bi-Weekly Update sent to your University Email Review program handbook prior to beginning coursework! Save a copy of your handbook for future reference! Student Computer lab available Mon-Thurs 8am-8pm, Fri 8am-5pm while classes are in session

Tuition and Fees Your total cost is tuition PLUS fees Students are subject to FULL student fees when enrolled in both online plus hybrid or Denver campus courses (hybrid courses include face-to-face meetings and online components) Students enrolled in only hybrid courses are still charged FULL student fees Students enrolled in only online courses are responsible for paying the Information Technology and Student Information System (SIS) fees (as well as the new student and international student fees, if applicable) More information is available at the Bursar’s website

SEHD Resources Advising New students are assigned an academic advisor and faculty advisor/mentor Academic advisors are professional staff who assist students with program- specific advising needs, including registration, transfer credit, policies, and procedures. SEHD Resources Email is the official means of communication for CU Denver Check your university student email account regularly at www.ucdenver.edu/email SEHD will ONLY send communications to your CU Denver email account Please use ONLY CU Denver email when communicating with Academic and Faculty Advisors SEHD recommends NOT forwarding your CU Denver email to an off- campus email address Course evaluations (FCQ – Faculty Course Evaluations) are emailed to enrolled students at the end of every semester. Registration UCDAccess Student Portal http://www.ucdenver.edu/ ucdaccess From the Student tab you can access a variety of academic and financial functions, including your Student Center by clicking All Student Functions

Registration In your Student Center, you can View any HOLDS on account using the Tasks – Holds button “Advanced Registration Deposit” and “Immunization Compliance” are common holds for new student How to Pay Registration Deposit Immunization Requirement Information can be found here ❷

Registration In your Student Center, you can View Advisor information using the Advisor button Access financial aid information and apply for scholarships using the Financial Aid button Pay student bills and the Advanced Registration Deposit, sign up for direct deposit, and view other account information using the Student Account button

Canvas Online learning management system Allows you to access course material, submit assignments, and engage in classes All online and hybrid classes and some on- campus classes will use Canvas Fully online courses are NOT self-paced Login at http://ucdenver.instructure.com Use your UCDAccess username and password Download the Canvas app for your smart phone or tablet

Canvas By default, access to courses becomes available on the first day of classes and closes at the end of the semester You might have access to past enrollments under the Courses tab Download and save any material you want to access later Your Canvas Inbox is separate from your CU Denver email Please use CU Denver email to contact your Academic Advisor
