SoftReports - Patient Reports Presented by Kim Schroeder Team Lead SoftReports Implementation/Support

Would you like to know more about SoftReports Patient reports? Then, you have come to the right session. We will discuss what is needed to implement SoftReports. The advantages of using patient reports and how we work with the other products to bring you a complete package for reporting. We will allow plenty of time for a round table question and answer session on patient results reports at the end of the presentation.

The Components of SoftReports SoftReports Designer Report Explorer Layout Editor Query Designer SoftReports Launcher Executing Ad hoc Reports Scheduling Ad hoc Reports Tracking Ad hoc Reports SoftReports Formatter PC A dedicated PC/Server that accepts the report *.xml data from the individual modules and translates it into the SoftReports format (*.pdf). SoftReports Program Software installed on the servers (“Main” and “Aux”). This is the actual application that executes for all active environments.

SoftReports Report Formatters Dedicated servers required for SoftReports to run SoftReports software component “formats or transforms” the XML data Two formatters are required for 5000 orders or less. If more then 5000 SCC will evaluate. The formatters automatically load balances and in case one goes down the other acts as a backup and there will be no interruption of reports going out. These computers can be Physical or Virtual machines Formatters Formatters

Formatter specifications for a Physical machine Standard Formatter PC hardware configuration: Server class Xeon or Opteron 2.5 GHz Dual or Quad core 4GB of RAM 2.1 GB of disk space for software and runtime files Network Adapter – 1 GBps Windows 2003 Server Web Edition or higher Internet Information Services Installed 4GB of paging space (virtual memory)

Formatter specifications for a Virtual machine Requirements for Virtual PC Installations: Intel Xeon/AMD Opteron 2.0 GHz equivalent PC, configured in single core configuration 2 GB Ram Network Adapter 1 GBps 2.1 GB of disk space for software and runtime files Windows 2003 Server Web Edition or higher Internet Information Services Installed

Clients responsibilities Purchasing two or more Server Spec PCs (can be virtual). Install IIS (Internet Information Services) and .NET Required. Adobe Reader version 7.0 or higher. Excel Viewer or Microsoft Office. Open task with IP addresses/Server names.

SCC products that also require formatters? Patient Reports from all modules except SoftPath SoftReports Management Reports (Ad hoc) APR, AWR, Pharmacy and Radiology (Launcher Only) SoftTotalQC needs SoftReports to produce Reports/Labels SoftBank 25.1 and higher for management reports SoftExpress uses SoftReports for their management reports

Different versions of SoftReports 1.1.7.6.8 is a 32 bit version of Software it is not compatible with 64 bit operating systems 1.1.8.2.4 is 32 bit compatible but is running on an 64 bit emulation 1.1.9.x will be native 64 bit compatible and able to work with ASCII Base 4.0.2, 4.0.3 and 4.5

Our Application Servers TomCat Used for the 1.1.7.x line of SoftReports JBOSS or WebLogic Used for 1.1.8.x line of SoftReports GlassFish Used for 1.1.9.x - Our future line of SoftReports

What's next after HW/SW has been installed? Schedule Kick off call to discuss workflow and reporting needs Send samples of Patient reports to the client Client comes to SCC to SoftReports class SoftReports Implementer works with the client to design their patient reports for Go-Live

Using SoftReports to design Patient Reports

SoftReports Designer Layouts and SubReports

Inside view of the RL1 Standard report

SrptResults the section that controls how the body of the lab report prints

Instant RL1 Standard Report

Two Column layout

Patient letter with results

Example of a Toxicology report

Using SoftMedia for archiving with SoftReports With the use of SoftMedia one is able to save an exact copy of the report with the original printed date and time. Any version of SoftReports will work with 2.0.8.8 or higher of SoftMedia.

Example of an archived patient report

View the document within SoftMedia

Adding scanned documents to patient reports using SoftMedia Using SoftMedia we have the capability of inserting scanned reports (if SoftMedia Global is purchased). This functionality can be used with batch reports from the Lab print scheduler, Instant reports or Cumulative reports.

Attaching scanned documents to patient reports

Output of the report with document or image attached

Archived document with the scanned document or image

SoftReports is not just for Patient reports we can create forms

SoftReports can be used with SoftWeb Plus SoftWeb Plus can use SoftReports RL1 layout to send to your outreach clients.

Example of XML

Can SoftReports send Patient Reports to an EMR? SoftReports can be FTPed to network location for client to pick up and process. SoftReports can be directed to a directory on our servers for client to pickup and process via FTP. SCC has the ability to split each patient by medical record or billing number.

Can SoftReports send Patient Reports to an EMR? SCC has the ability to provide index file showing all files created by batch run SCC has the ability to reprint stay with new activity (File on EMR would overwrite) SCC has the ability to send only new results (File on EMR would be appended)

Can I still use my Legacy reports if I move to SoftReports? Answer: You can still produce Legacy Patients Reports after upgrading to SoftReports by using the print scheduler in lab and adding -eRDL parameter on the extension line.

What products you can use SoftReports for? SoftLab Patient Results Reports SoftMic Patient Results Reports SoftBank Patient Results Reports SoftReports can collated AP reports into a batch run SoftMedia report archiving and collating scanned documents

What products you can use SoftReports for? SoftLab and SoftMic System reports IE: TAT Report, Exception, Epidemiology Report etc… SoftBank 25.1 or higher setup and Management reports SoftPath Standard SQL Management Reports known as “APR” SoftAR Standard SQL Management Reports known as “AWR” SoftWorkload SoftTotalQC Reports/Labels

Products you can use SoftReports for? Client Custom SQL (Ad hoc) reports using the databases from the following modules: SoftLab SoftMic SoftBank SoftPath SoftExpress SoftAR SoftWorkload SoftGene Suite SoftID SoftID.Tx

Summary SoftReports may be used for Patient Result Reports and Ad hoc reports. SoftReports works with SoftMedia to archive your reports and collate scanned images. SoftReports may be used for more than just Patient reports.
